Programming
A) Bring
1) CAMERA & 2) Card reader to CONVENTION.
B) Do
as much picture loading at the convention as possible, because you won’t have time
again till maybe next year, and it will be much harder to learn the program
again at that time.
C) Buy
computer log in time at both hotels and take laptop with you to all of the
meetings.
D) Give
updates to the web site and reports at the business lunch meetings.
- Pictures:
In the picture file on the computer, label the ones I intend to keep (i.e.
#1, #2, etc) Do not bother to name pictures here.
- In
Website Complete, right click to insert image, Browse the images on the
computer, select image; then resize the image to a width of 252 pixels
before inserting into document.
- Create
new picture boxes by inserting a table, and right click to add rows and
columns to the table.
- Always
scan new docs in a pdf file. In file manager, always select new docs
to “Open This Link In New Browser”
window.
- If
Word document, May save as a “Web Page” file, because this works well too.
Make sure to always select the document in file manage to “Open This Link
In New Browser” window.
- Select
tools, then File Manager, then browse & select new document (i.e.
lecture schedule) that you want to add. Later you can make links from
anywhere, on any page, to any document previously uploaded into the file
manager. Always select new pdf files or other documents to “Open This Link
In New Browser” window.
- The
manager password is different from the website publishing password.
- Upload
a back up copy of website to FTP://AOCPR.org.
The publishing password is needed to do this.
- If you
have to restore to a previous version, use the restore command on a backup
copy.
- TO
CHANGE PROFILE INFO: In AOCPR.org/manager – use the second password (not
the publishing password). To change profiles without loosing the previous
in formation, A) Make a copy of the original profile in Word (just in
case), B) In the Password Protection Manager do these three things: 1)
Copy the profiled persons email to the clipboard. 2) “[Edit
Member Info]” 3) Change the password to 12345, and “Update
Member”. C) Go to Member Login page (not from any other page) do these
three things: 1) “Logout”. 2) Then “Login”. 3) Then, “Add Directory Entry”,
D) Paste the email address from the clipboard and use 12345 for the
password. E) If you did everything right, all of the info in the profile
will be saved and you can make just a few changes. If not, then use your
backup copy in step “A” above.
